Daniela Barat

Daniela has more than 30 years of experience as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. She has supported organizations on developing legal and compliance corporate structures that mitigate and support improved business performance to address business, operational, reputational and behavioural risks.

Her corporate and international legal experience on several continents and extensive exposure to a multitude of situations give her a solid experience on counselling corporate businesses on commercial, corporate, regulatory and compliance matters, especially in developing company-wide policies and guidelines.

 
 

Hélène Cloet-Galibourg

With more than 15 years of experience in corporate governance, compliance, integrity and ethics in business, Hélène has provided guidance and strategic advise to non-for-profit organizations and participated in the set-up of legal structures and offices worldwide.

She has a solid experience in the management of whistle-blower reporting channels, the development of governance and compliance frameworks as well as the implementation of trainings and awareness campaigns to improve the compliance knowledge and ethical of organizations.

  • Francesca has more than 10 years of professional expertise working for international organisations on legal and compliance matters, especially in data protection.

    As a certified privacy professional (CIPP/E), Francesca has hands-on expertise with GDPR and Swiss Data Protection Law, developing privacy governance frameworks, policies, and training programs.

    She has a solid expertise in drafting and negotiating international IT/technology/cloud contracts.

    Francesca also serves on the Committee of the Swiss Association of Data Protection Officers.

  • Flavio de Souza joined CARE in 2023, after having worked for Nestlé for more than 30 years. He has worked in several countries and continents as General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Public Affairs, with worldwide experience and vast knowledge on governance, business ethics, compliance, legal, advocacy and public affairs, as well as solid skills on negotiations, litigation and crisis management.

    As Group Chief Compliance Officer, he supported Nestlé in developing and implementing compliance and corporate ethics and integrity programs and systems, implemented the new Speak Up Channel and coordinated compliance investigations on a global basis.

  • Jim is a highly experienced international finance and operations professional. Following a successful international private sector career as a CFO/COO across multiple countries and regions, Jim moved to the non-profit sector to build global public-private partnerships across a broad range of sustainability challenges, including climate, biodiversity, circular economy and food security. He brings a depth of financial knowledge and operational experience to the challenges of designing, funding, implementing and scaling public-private partnerships, and the collaborative business models, platforms and governance frameworks required to successfully deliver impact at scale.

  • Lukas has extensive knowledge in fraud response and compliance risk management – focusing on all kind of internal investigations, case assessments and management as well as working out incident response plans and fraud audit programs. Further focus areas are compliance risk prevention, detection and reaction methodologies, compliance helpdesk and whistleblowing hotline management and provides support with corporate ethics and integrity services.

    He also dealt with the investigation of financial crimes such as fraud and embezzlement as well as corruption and money laundering. With the rise of the #metoo movement in 2017, he specialized predominantly in cases of sexual harassment, bullying and discrimination in the workplace.

    Lukas has great experience running whistleblowing hotlines and case management. He regularly performs background checks for executive search companies and a private equity firm in the pre-employment screening process for C-level executives.

    He regularly speaks on conferences and served as a lecturer at the school of law in Winterthur (internal investigations for compliance officers) and other institutions.

  • Nataliya Prongue has a broad experience in multinational companies in highly regulated industries, in non-for-profit environment, and in interacting with governments and international organisations. She has expertise in international policy, public and regulatory affairs, advocacy and multi-stakeholder engagement, with focus on business and human rights, human rights due diligence, responsible supply chains, including labour rights and child labour.

    She builds links between different parties and stakeholders aiming to find common ground and identify alternative solutions that would meet each party’s objectives, identifying solutions to complex issues, including regulatory and business challenges, while contributing to sustainable business development.

    She has deep knowledge of key international instruments, policies and regulation on sustainability, business and human rights, and has track record in strategic development and organisational change, multi-stakeholder initiatives and partnerships, stakeholder engagement, strategic project management for development, issues and crisis management.

  • Patrick Murphy has more than 35 years of solid Business/Financial experience in senior Finance, Risk Management and Sustainability roles. He has supported organizations in developing and implementing value added programs particularly in the areas of Enterprise Risk Management, Sustainability and Human Rights that support long-term business performance.

    His extensive experience of Business Acquisitions, Mergers, Restructuring and Disposals in addition to multiple exec and non-exec board positions across 3 continents provides him with a unique base to consel corporate businesses on Strategy, Financial/NonFinancial Reporting, ERM, Sustainability and Human Rights matters in the business context.

  • Peter Jonker has over two decades of experience as an advisor and investigator in compliance, corporate integrity and business ethics matters. Over the years, he supported many international clients with the development and implementation of compliance and corporate integrity programs. He has extensive experience with managing hotlines as an external service provider to clients both in the not-for-profit and profit sector, and investigated allegations of financial and procurement fraud and corruption, conflicts of interest, abuse of authority, mobbing, bossing, discrimination and (sexual) harassment.

    Most recently Peter worked for the Ethics Office of UNOPS, following an organizational crisis. In this role he handled hundreds ethics and compliance cases and managed the Financial Disclosure and Conflict of Interest Programme. Through this experience Peter gained a deep insight in UN Staff Regulations and Rules and other relevant policies.

    Peter is/was teaching at several Swiss universities (a.o. University of Zurich, Rochester-Berne University, ZHAW, FHNW) on ‘Ethics and Leadership’ and ‘Compliance Risk Management’ and a member of the UN Global Compact Working Group on Principle 10 (Anti-corruption).

  • Robert Kahn is a communications and leadership coach/trainer working across a variety of industries and international non-governmental organizations. He firmly believes that at the forefront of any organization, the communication skills of executives are crucial to their success.

    He helps individuals and teams feel valued and respected, to present their ideas in a more compelling, confident manner, handle difficult or sensitive topics, (customer meetings, financial presentations, major speeches, team interactions) while reducing nervousness and increasing overall effectiveness.

    He also focuses on developing leadership skills and leadership presence when negotiating with different cultures and personalities This is a niche of coaching where people develop and maximize their executive presence; the art of positive influence; as well as the ability to communicate confidence and concern for others.

    Since great teamwork is not always a given, Robert works with teams to help them understand how they work as a unit, how personality preferences may influence actions and behaviors. He helps teams move from conflict to productive conflict resolution using a language of cooperation, requests and understanding. He combines NonViolent Communication and the tenants of Neuro Linguistic Programming into many of his programs.

  • Rockhaya Sylla is a trained as a lawyer and her areas of expertise range from human rights to social leadership and diaspora engagement. She is passionate about creating social impact and positive change. She has worked to build award winning projects and was nominated to the Women of the Move Awards 2018 in the woman of the year category. Created by the UNHCR Refugee Agency and Migrants Organise, this award celebrates the contribution Migrant and Refugee women make to their community.

    Rockhaya is involved in various local and international projects working to promote human rights, social leadership and sustainable social inclusion. She has significant experience in advocating and advising NGOs, private business and policymakers on these issues. In London, she also works as a advisor for Freedom From Torture, and participates in the development of the strategies designed to empower and rehabilitate of torture survivors into society.

    She is also an active member of Women for Peace and Participation, an international platform focused on the social inclusion of diaspora women in peacebuilding processes.

    Education and research form another significant part of her work. She has been involved in multiple research projects and acts as a regular guest lecturer for the Universities of Leicester and Roehampton, where she discusses intersectionality and migration with international relations and human rights students.
